Illustration Friday: Vacant

                                               ©2008Deborah Melmon

Our first storm blew in yesterday in the Bay Area, and it feels like Winter is on it's way. We tend to have beautiful Indian Summers in September and October, so it is a bit of a shock to the system to have wind and rain.... Anyway, the weather makes me think of the birds flocking together for the Winter and all the nests that have been abandoned until next Spring.
Little vacant nests lined with feathers and crusty old bird poop.

Hee, hee.. old bird poop... LOL!
This is very cute Deb! I love all the birdies, specially the annoying one that seems to be yelling at the little fellow next to him ;o)

And I love your new header!!! Beautiful... looks so gorgeous against the warm buttery yellow of your blog's background.

Love the casual makes it look so easy line work...your work reminds me of that of the English illustrator Quentin Blake.

I'm in Okaland, where it is coming down in buckets.

I really like the little bird-house village in one tree. And the blue birds all lined up and ready to go are charming.
Nice idea, lovely illustration.

I love the picture - it's both cute and so dynamic. I especially love the bird "shouting" at another one and causing it to jump.
