Watercolor Lessons

Here's something new I'm trying this summer.....watercolor lessons! I've always wanted to paint roses and I've always wanted to master watercolor (is that possible??) so I've been going to the studio of Guy Magallanes in Redwood City on Tuesday evenings and have been painting with a talented group of women. So far, I'm working small...I think it's the illustrator in me...but trying to loosen up with it. I'm having a blast, and it's such a nice break from work!

OMG , this is stunning. I'm so very impressed. It looks like you have been doing it for years, honestly.
Enjoy!
PS. Great to hear from you on my blog. What a neat story about golfing with some of the greatest american dog participants.
How fun!

Yes, all that Rozzie said plus wow! :o)

It's really good Deb... watercolor is so fun isn't it? I love it.. you just have to have fun with it and try to loose the fear. I know it's hard to erase mistakes but when you manage to loosen up, wonderful things start to happen.

Ohh... redwood city :o(
Every time I read your blog, it brings me memories from over there... I miss it. I'm gonna go back to folding laundry and shed a few tears.. hahaha :o)

Ah, thanks Roz and Alicia! You're too kind. But I have to say that your art, Alicia, has inspired me to try to incorporate watercolor into my children's illustrations. It has such a nice feel to it. I'm hoping these classes will help. I found that using the correct watercolor paper is a big key to success :o) No wonder I've been struggling!

Redwood City is going through so many changes. It's really become a fun little city with great restaurants, galleries, etc. You'll have to come visit soon.

So tonight is Great American Dog. I have to root for JD since I've met his mom!

Yes, I have to plan a trip so we can meet at the cafe/bookstore over on California Ave to have some coffees.. if it's still there.. :o)

Btw, do you like Thai food? Have you ever tried the Thai food they have over at the psychology department on Stanford Campus? You have to try it, very cheap and reaaaally good! Yum!

Yes, Alicia,I do love Thai food! Will have to check it out. Never thought of going to Stanford campus for food :o)
I think the cafe is still there, but Printer's Ink...the bookstore....has gone by the wayside I fear. the indpendent bookstores do struggle, don't they?
But yes! Come visit!!
